The product is made from a combination of high-quality clays (bentonite + silt), and the hydro-glycerin base makes Volcanica creamier and significantly less drying than classic clay masks. The creamy texture with relatively low viscosity cleanses pores and soothes inflamed skin while preserving the barrier function without the usual dryness and tightness. What makes this mask special? Volcanica is a unique mask formulated on a moisturizing glycerin base and contains no oils, giving it a gentle, emollient texture. Its base contains silt and hygroscopic clay, along with added zinc, which excellently cares for skin prone to excessive sebum production, clogged pores, and imperfections. Zinc and copper (Cu-Zn) form an excellent and traditionally well-known combination for caring for very sensitive skin prone to blemishes. What is silt? Silt is thermal mud found at thermal springs and is therefore rich in elemental sulfur (which can also be detected through the mask’s mild sulfur scent), as well as skin-beneficial silicon and magnesium. It also contains copper, manganese, and selenium – minerals key to skin health. The fine colloidal sulfur particles in silt effectively treat dermatological conditions manifested by inflammation, irritation, and blockages , making this mask an ideal supplementary care for skin prone to acne and excessive sebum production.
